![]() ![]() ![]() Hello Brawlhallers, berthen here with a step by step guide on how to do basic hammer combos. I will break down all the true hammer combos that doesn’t require dodge and tell you when you can use them. To perform this combo, start with a side air on an opponent that is close to the ground, keep holding forward for about 2/3rd of a second then neutral light. The amount of time you have to input neutral light is about 1/5th of a second so you can just hold aim up and spam light attack really quickly at near the right time and it’ll work consistently. This combo works at 0 damage when your legend is right in front of the enemy when hitting side air. But the higher the damage, the closer you have to get so at 30 damage you have to be almost fully stacked which just means your legend has to be almost completely on top of the enemy. If you have a hard time doing a neutral light because you keep using side light unintentionally then consider checking the prioritize neutral over side which will use neutral light instead of side light if you are holding forward and up at the same time or you can just change the default up button to just aim up instead of jump + aim up which will automatically prioritize neutral attacks over side attacks which is what I use. To perform this combo, start with a down light, wait almost 2/3rd of a second then neutral light. This combo is a bit tricky because you can actually input the neutral light half a second after you input down light which is a bit too early, that either gives the enemy time to dodge, does less damage or in rare cases it will hit for full damage with just the right positioning. So to land the combo every time, you have about 1/10th of a second to input the neutral light almost 2/3rd of a second after you input down light which just means that you have to practice the timing for this combo or you’ll either do it too early or too late. The range for this combo is when the enemy is fully stacked up to when they are right in front of you and tends to be easier to do in between those two points. If you have really good timing though, you can actually do it at max range by walking up to the enemy after downlight for about a quarter of a second and then use neutral light, but this only works at 0-10 damage though not 20. I actually have done the unarmed tactic, but I probably should go back to it (I'm currently trying to power level all of my spear users to level 25, so I seldom play Gnash unless it's on rank). To perform this combo, start with down light, wait 1/3rd of a second then side light. ![]() Swinging wildly will leave you too open to counterattack. You need to attack in the right moment, in the right place. Originally posted by Mapos:Gnash is very powerful, but slow. Switch it up and keep it varied, and then suddenly use the same thing twice. As a little "fits all" tip, people tend to fall into the same trick twice in a row, but never three times in a row. There are two types of attacks: light and signature. It almost always catches people off guard, and if they´re weakened enough it can pretty much a be a free kill. The stance that we will be using is Strength, as the difference between 3 and 4 dexterity isn’t that noticeable and the speed isn’t that needed. Then, after some fighting and maybe one or two lifes, when your opponent is already injured and keeping distance, do that attack. Both with hammer and spear, never use the heavy left/right attack where you lunge accross the map. You´ll learn quite a lot about spacing, timing, precision and dodging, which is exactly what you need here. 2+ Dex: Down Light > Side Air Down Light > Neutral Air DownLight > Recovery Side Light > Neutral Light (Hit 2nd. Don´t use weapons until you beat your previous rank through unarmed fighting. These are all the Brawlhalla Lance combos, and. You´ll likely lose ranks fast, then get the trick and start climbing up again. Go into ranked and don´t use a single weapon. The most important: if you haven´t yet, learn to fight unarmed. The hammer excels at beating horizontal opponents (swords and lance, for example) from the air, while the spear is more "all terrain" and allows for more defensive play, specially against vertical opponents. You´ll see each offers you attacks to cover different areas around you. Go intro traning mode and do all your attacks with both weapons. Gnash is hard to play properly, but a beast when you understand him. ![]() Against anyone who´s good, you´ll have to link your dodges and attacks very carefully, and punish hard. However, that´s very clearly an anti-spam strategy. Against certain players, mostly spammers and a few others who are bad at attacking, it can be very effective to use your huge hit areas to turn everything around you into a danger zone (kind of like Teros often does, but a little faster). You have to play carefully and make every hit count. Swinging wildly will leave you too open to counterattack.įocus on precission and evasion. ![]()
